Final 2009 Season Update
Dive 2009
The Hawks Landing divers finished the season with a great 3-2 dual meet record. We beat Shorewood, Maple Bluff, and High Point (Nakoma was a rain out!) We finished 7th in the All City meet at Hill Farms. Most divers that participated in the All City meet qualified for finals, which means that they scored points for the team and finished in the top 16 in the city in their age group. For the summer, many divers learned new dives and were able to execute dives at a higher level. Great job!!

Swim 2009
Swimmers again beat Maple Bluff in our dual meet and we were much more competitive in all other dual meets. At the All City meet at Shorewood, we accomplished our goal of not being twelfth! We topped Maple Bluff, and we were very close to Nakoma, High Point, and Westside. In the Efficieny category (number of points scored per swimmer), we were 2nd out of 12 teams. The 8&U girls won high point, which means that we have the best 8&U girls in the city!!! Olivia Prescott also set a record (35.94) in the 9-10 breaststroke to claim Hawks Landings' very first All City record. She broke a record that had held since 2000.

Congrats to all swimmers and divers that competed with the team this summer making it our best summer yet.

Food Drive
HAWKS COME IN 4TH AT ALL CITY FOOD DRIVE
Congratulations to our Hawks Swim & Dive families for contributing over 400 pounds of food AND almost $700 to our efforts in the 2009 food drive. That will result in over FIVE THOUSAND meals for the Verona Food Pantry!

Overall, the swim and dive teams in the city set a new All City record by raising enough for almost 132,000 meals. Amazing!

In the overall food drive competition our team came in 4th out of the 12 clubs.
Way to go!
